James almost stumbled as he made his way out of the tall arched door of the hotel. This party blows. Once he'd made his way down the four concrete steps to the sidewalk, the boy reached his left hand into his pocket, searching for his keys, while the right hand held on to the neck of a vodka bottle. He was surprised they'd let him off the property with that. I'm just that good... He chuckled to himself, finally finding his keys in the other pocket. By this point he'd already reached his lexus.
The keys almost entered the lock when a flashing light caught his eye; James looked up to see a police car passing by, the two deputies scanning the streets thoroughly. Maybe he wouldn't' drive tonight...
He was sober enough to realize that if he were to get caught, they'd surely take his license away. James huffed and slipped the keys back into his pocket. Good thing he'd been holding the bottle of vodka between himself and the car, otherwise he'd be in shit for sure.
"Haha..."
Chocolate brown eyes slid from the street up to the tall building in front of him. A friend of his had told him of a party that'd be thrown there, and he'd promised it'd be fun. Bullshit. James had arrived, ready for some fun, and found himself amongst some young high school geeks, having their first try at being bad. The older boy consumed as much of their booze as he could, snatched the bottle of vodka, then got out of there.
"Where am I...?"
He spotted a street sign a distance away from his car, and squinted in order to see it, the street being quite poorly lit at night. 'Grosvenor Place...' James took a moment to orient himself. If he was on Grosvenor Place, this meant that Hyde Park would be a short walk away. If he were to cross through Hyde Park, he'd get to Hoffman Academy eventually. If it weren't a school day he'd just get his own room at the hotel, but he had class in the morning; a class he actually looked forward to attending. With a shrug he started walking, trying to hide the vodka from view.
Within minutes, he's reached a greener area. He stepped on dewy grass as he entered the park, and slowed his pace a little once the street was out of view. He unscrewed the cap on the bottle he was carrying, and brought it to his lips. After swallowing a burning mouth-full, James put the cap back on and tried to focus on going in the right direction.
It wasn't long before he got bored of being sloshed on his own, of being in this quiet park. So he parted his lips and started singing the first song that came to mind; 'no way back' by hundred reasons. They were one of his favourite British bands, and though the lyrics didn't make too much sense to him then, he remembered them word for word. He was certainly having more fun than he was before. His voice resembled Colin Doran's slightly, though it was a few fractions deeper, and with a smooth undertone, similar to Muse's Matthew Bellamy's singing.
