blue moon now I'm no longer alone without a dream in my heart without a love of my own The night was young, but creeping along to that time of night when everyone is just settling into their dorms and laying down for a good book or to enjoy a dramatic movie. Anatole was one of those people doing just that. Though she lie on her bed, in her dorm, with the sound of a piano drifting from her caset player. Yes, a caset player. Anatole was sort of old fashioned like that, but this is beside the point. Ana lie on her bed, eyes closed, listening to the music playing in her room. The classic, smooth voice of Billie Holiday came from the square speakers. Nothing could bother Ana right now. She was in that state just before you fall asleep. Where your mind is blank, just drifting off from the thoughts in it just moments ago. Her body was limp as if she were sound asleep, though we know now that she's not. But in a matter of minutes you know she would be.
The day had been long for Ana. It was full of rushed classes and flurried conversations. Noe of her conversations had been very interesting today. No. Most of them were of homework due or the depressing holidays that were just around the corner. Ana never really liked the holidays, unlike most. She saw them as a time when families get together to give presents only to have to return them because you don't like what you've received. Plus the holidays brought out the worst in Alice. She always became very worked up and she was always having to do something. Whether it be to clean the house and decorate or it be going out and buying more gifts that will be returned in the end. However, Ana loved giving presents. She took months finding the perfects gifts for family and friends. She especially loved finding Beau his present. But the holidays were a ways away. She need not worry at this point.
The song just ended. And there was the hushed sound of the analogue clock on the wall. It disturbed Anatole slightly, waking her from her near slumber. Her eyes flickered open as the next song began to play after the short paused. A short scat came from the voice of Billie Holiday. And soon Louis Armstrong chimed in.
"Stars fading but I linger on dear, Still craving your kiss."
Ana pushed herself up, now leaning against the headboard of her bed. The socked clad foot at the near end of her bed was swaying along with the smooth music as it rung out. A million thoughts rushed into Ana's head now. Thoughts of family, friends, school, and the common day events. Nothing important just the thoughts of every high school student now-a-days.

"Wishing will make it so just keep on wishing and care will go Dreamers tell us dreams come true It's no mistake Wishing are the dreams we dream when we're awake."______________________________ After spending hours in the practice hall working on her newest piece Abi had finally decided to return to her dorm room. There was an odd look on her face, that people only got when they'd done something good or met someone great. With abi most people would assume her practice went well or she managed to get a part with the local opera company. Normally they would have been right, today they where a bit off. The reason for the smile had nothing to do with her talent at all. In fact it had to do with someone else's completely. Abi hadn't been able to shake this look since she met Jayce Scott. Sure, most girls get all flustered when around the boy, he's gorgeous, but there was something different here. For the first time in her life someone had been playing the paino and Abi wanted to listen. That was what attracted Abi to him so much. His looks where an added bonus, but the passion he ahd when he played was what put the goofy little grin on her face. As she approached her dorm room she heard Billie holiday coming from inside. This meant Ana was home. Hey, at least her roommate had great taste in music. Well, why wouldn't she? Afterall she was Abi's best friend they'd have to have somethings in common, right? "Turn it up, the neighbors can't hear it!" Abi said as she pushed the door open and entered the dorm. Tossing her music on the floor at the end of her bed, she giggled slightly as she smiled at her friend. It wasn't uncommon for Abi to giggle for no reason, but it's wasn't a regular occurance. Most people wouldn't know that, but Ana certainly would. These two were as close as best friends could possibly be. They told eachother anything and everything. Really there was very little one didn't know about the other. With one swift motion Abi feel back on her bed and palced her arms behind her head. The song Ana was playing only catered to Abi's mood. To some people it would have almost been sick the way she sighed and giggled for absolutely no reason at all. Someone was likely to think she was crazy. No, Abi's not crazy, just crushing and dieing to tell ana all about it, but she wouldn't burst out with it. She was going to make ana ask. That's usually how it works girls smile and make funny faces until their friends guess that they're in lvoe or have been hurt. Sometimes it's like firendship is one big guessing game.

blue moon now I'm no longer alone without a dream in my heart without a love of my own "Turn it up, the neighbors can't hear it!"
The door swung open. Anatole's roommate Abigail appeared in the threshold, a quaint little smile gracing her lips. Abigail so happened to also be Ana's best of friends. Right away Ana could tell something was with her friend. They way Abi came in with that smile and a giggle in her tone when she spoke. Though, like every girl would, Ana stayed lying on her bed listening to her music. She waited to see who would say something about Abi's overly enthused character first. Of course, Ana knew it would have to be her, but she would wait a bit longer before asking what was up.
"Have a good rehersal than?" Anatole said with a calm tone. Her mood was very relaxed at the moment, so her voice was a bit deeper and softer than usual. Normally her tone was rather light and chipper. Abi wouldn't notice much though. Seeing as this was the normal voice Ana got at night when she was listening to music and such. The two girls were rather close. Closer friends than they had been the year before. The fact was they were now roommates. Last year they were merely friends at the same school. Ana was putting the quote "you don't know someone until you've lived with them" to the test. And so far it was working very well.
It had been a minute or two since Abi had come into the dorm from her long day. So now Ana knew she could jump and tackle the situation at hand. Meaning what was with Abigail's wonderfully happy mood. Ana bit at one of her nails before speaking - rather, before asking. She looked at the nail after biting it. She took another stab at it, spitting a piece of nail from her mouth. Then, casually, Ana looked at Abi who had thrown her music on the floor.
"So...Abi," she began into what would probably turn into an all night conversation. "What's with the merry little giggle and the girlish smile you're sporting tonight? Something interesting happen I should know about?" And there it was. The question that would start it all.

"Wishing will make it so just keep on wishing and care will go Dreamers tell us dreams come true It's no mistake Wishing are the dreams we dream when we're awake."______________________________ "Oh yeah, Rehearsal was great." Abi answered in a dreamy voice as she stared at the ceiling. Abi hadn't actualy done a whole lot in rehearsal today. In fact she hadn't goten anything done, due to a rather attractive distraction. For once that didn't bother her. She didn't care about not doing any work because what she'd done was far more enjoyable. Plus, everyone needs a break from their studies every once in a while and Jayce just happened to be there today to provide her with that much needed break. The sight of him playing the paino was replaying over and over in her head as she began to hum the song fur elise. A song that she had hated up until recently. That would strike anyone who knew how much she hated piano as quite odd. Especially when her teacher had given her that song just last year and abigail had been so mad she ripped the sheet music in half. Yes, anyone who knew her would wonder why in the world she was humming something she hated so much. Oh, and the look on her face made it even more confusing ebcause she was obviously happy as a lark. "What's with the merry little giggle and the girlish smile you're sporting tonight? Something interesting happen I should know about?"When Ana's voice entered her thoughts Abi sat straight on the bed, startled. "Sorry, I was daydreaming." She muttered, her smile widening a bit. "Interesting? Well, I'm not sure if that's how you'd describe it." Abi wasn't hesitant to tell Ana about Jayce, she was just looking for the right way to put it. That usually wasn't har dfor her, but today the words didn't seem to be coming to her as easliy as they usually did. "I met this guy today in the practice halls." She blurted out, finally. "He's an absolutely phenominal pianist, and yeah I know I hate piano and pianists, but something about him is different. It's like he plays from his soul. Oh, and with such passion. It's nothing short of amazing." Since Abi was a child every time she got excited she began to ramble on and on and on about whatever it was. She won't stop unless someone interrupts her and even then it's hard to get a word in to the conversation that she might as well be having with herself. "Something about him is just entrancing. I don't know how else to describe it!" Abi excalimed as she curled up on her bed and wrapped her arms around the fluffy pink pillow that always sat in the center of her bed. That pillow was once she hugged when she got emotional. Any kind of extreme emotion, not just sadness. Lately she hadn't needed it because her life seemed to have stalled. She did the same thing every day, except for today, of course. Today was different. Today she needed her pillow and her best friend so she could retell the entire story, well not the entire story, but a summary of it, at least.

blue moon now I'm no longer alone without a dream in my heart without a love of my own Here it came. Word vomit. Abi had started and wasn't going to quit talking now. This is exactally what Ana thought was going to happen. Ana was prepared for the night ahead. It was going to be long and full of boy talk. And what girl in high school doesn't like boy talk. Ana let herself slide down so she was lying on her back now, but then she rolled over onto her side. Propping her head up onto one hand, Ana was now ready to listen to Abi ramble about this new love interest. What fun! A boy might not be so interested in his best friends girl spottings, but for Ana and Abi, this was like a high light in life.
"I met this guy today in the practice halls." She blurted out, finally. "He's an absolutely phenominal pianist, and yeah I know I hate piano and pianists, but something about him is different. It's like he plays from his soul. Oh, and with such passion. It's nothing short of amazing."
"Ooohh. So, one, he's a cutie, that goes without saying. Two, he's a pianist, which I think is adorable unlike you. And three he's different. Okay. Got it..." Ana took down her mental notes. Whether Abi would take notice of what she was saying she didn't know, nor did she care. It seemed unimportant right now. Abi was continuing with her new infatuation. "Something about him is just entrancing. I don't know how else to describe it!" Ana sort of rolled her eyes to the side thinking. Who could this guy be. The only way to find out was to ask, like she had before.
A milliom different names were running through Ana's head right now. But for everything in her she couldn't think of any pianists other than one...Jayce Scott. Her brothers best friend. But could it be? Jayce wasn't one to go and meet a girl on a limb. Maybe...possibly it was Jayce, but she wouldn't know until Abi told her. "Who is he? Did you get a name or anything? Have you met him before, probably not...So have you ever seen him around campus before?" Ana had let out her sort word vomit. There was plenty more to come, from her and Abi. That was garenteed.
