the curse of curvesThe heels of her black pumps clicked against the warm pavement as she made her way hesitantly down the sidewalk. She was surrounded by people, a lot of people, speaking a language she didn't understand. She took a deep breath to steady her nerves, almost chocking as he lugs filled with the vile oder of fresh fish. Ahhhh Not cool. Bliss wrinkled her delicate little nose and sped up her steps. Why had she listened to that guy?! One of her fellow music students had told her of a great store in china town, filled with instruments, sheet music...anything a musician desired.
Ugh. She shouldn't have come on her own. Now she was lost, and no one in sight spoke a word of English! She wasn't racist, not the least bit; but she was the type of girl to get frustrated without difficulty. Bliss stopped beneath a lamp post, glad to have finally gotten past the fish market. She had nothing against eating fish either, but the sight of it laying there raw and smelly turned her stomach.
Dumb. dumb. dumb. She shook her head and reached into her purse, fishing out her cell phone. Her fingers were ready to type a message to her best friend Letta when something hard collided with her hip. A hiss of pain left her lips, and she watched incredulously as a very short, and very old Chinese woman chattered at her, swinging a cage in each hand as she tried to gesture angrily. Feathers flew in all directions, and with a shock Bliss realized that the woman had each cage stuffed with two chickens each; live ones at that!.
The girl could do nothing but stare as the woman went on and on. She didn't understand a word, but she thought she got the gist of it. 'Watch where the hell you're standing...' Bliss raised an eyebrow, too startled for even her temper to flare. This is so bizzar.

Colton had wandered down to Chinatown just for a laugh you may say. Apparently, there was a good music store in the midst of all the small chinese people. Not to be racist but he was quite a bit taller than most of them, making his way a bit easier than some. At a time like this, he wished he knew how to speak the language of the Chinese. That would be cool because no one would expect it from him, and a laugh once he spoke Chinese with an Australian accent.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he found his destination. The journey was a hard one; trying not to step on the kids, going through the nasty smelling fish market and almost falling when tripping on an opening in the pavement. Yep, life was tough even in Chinatown even if it was Colton's first time ever in one. One time was good enough for him. The eighteen year old now had a new respect for Chinese people; he would kill every person in sight if he had to walk in such a crowded street as this.
Colton sported a green bandana, accenting his blue eyes and blond hair that oddly stuck out in random places. It looked like the messy, 'just got out of bed but I'm still incredibly hot' tone. Really, Colton just didn't give a damn. He'd woken up, had a shower and got ready for the day. His hair dried quickly and had a bandana put over it. Covering his torso, he wore a contemporary hoodie that hid a snug, black shirt. Jeans clung to his hips although weren't tight and went over a pair of original black and white high tops Coverse shoes, or as the people of Britain call them, Chucks. Sticking out of the back pocket of his jeans were two identical drumsticks; he never went anywhere without them, except for swimming or if he's going to work out or jog somewhere.
In the midst of all the foreign chatter, he heard a voice that rang high and out rang the other background noises; a woman almost shrieking in what seemed the Mandarin. Colton halted his pace and looked over the crowded streets and brightly decorated side streets to where the sound was coming from. Tilting his head, he moved to where the awful shrieks were located. Curious eyes looked for the culprit and at last he found them; the old woman, the squawking chickens with barely any feathers left and.. wow. His eyes widened a little when he saw her; she was gorgeous and her surface screamed wealth, not that it mattered to him.
The eighteen year old moved towards the trio, thinking of a way to avoid getting screamed at himself. Then a plan came to mind and he put it into action. He could get slapped or save themselves from a confusing confronation as the old woman clearly didn't know how to speak english. Taking a deep breath, Colton strode up to the blonde who looked just as mystified as himself and put his arm around her, kissing her on the cheek.
Hey hun. Sorry I kept you waiting; our reservations at the Green Village restaurant are still valid.
Colton's words hit the air with a thick accent as his eyes looked into hers, asking that she play along. He then turned to the woman and gave an intriguing half smile, leaving her shrieks to a minimum. Colton took a step forwards, signalling their leave as he let the Chinese woman ponder on what had just happened.

Bliss was stuck to the spot, her eyes wide and her lips parted as if she'd been about to say something, but had forgotten the words. What could this woman be saying?! She was going on and on and on and on... A small crowd had formed behind the woman, and they all stared at the innocent blond girl with disappointment and disapproval. Bliss closed her mouth and pressed her lips together. She'd slowly been getting over her shock, and in its place felt her temper rise. Her cheeks warmed as she felt her anger rise. This was ridiculous! She hadn't done anything!
Sharp green eyes narrowed, and her entire body obviously stiffened. Ididnothingwrong! Bliss took deep breaths to calm herself down, seriously considering stepping on the woman's foot before leaving the scene. Though, maybe it'd be best to just leave. Her eyes flicked from the shrieking woman to their small group of spectators; her lips pouted slightly as she tried to think of an escape that wouldn't involve getting anywhere near the group of judgmental men and women...
Just as she was about to jump into action, she felt a strong arm slip over and around her small frame. She went very still, her eyes flicking up to the blond boy, just as he pressed his lips to her cheek. Bliss felt herself blush, her eyes going wide once more. Within moments she'd recognized him through her shock, and instantly fell into the role he'd set up for her.
Bliss smiled brightly up at him, "Oh why'd you keep me waiting so long? You know how I hate waiting on my own. But I'm glad you're here now. And alright, that's great! We should get going..."
As the last word left her mouth, her savior stepped forward, and she moved along with him. Bliss slipped her arm around his waist, trying to make their act a little more realistic, and the curious crowd parted for them. She looked back only once, catching a glance of the old woman standing there, cages sitting at her feet, a confused or dazed look on her face. Once they'd gotten far enough away, Bliss turned to the other boy and smiled brightly, "Oh my god. Thank you so much!"
[[sorry for suckyness XD]]

Colton held his arm around her petite waist as they both walked through the curious spectators who practically shot venom at them with their accusing eyes. His attention was on them for a moment before he remembered their positions to fill.
When the duo had passed the judgemental crowd of orientals, he waited until they had turned a corner into a less crowded street until he removed his arm from her waist. Aquamarine eyes turned to her and a smile flashed onto his face making it beam with happiness.
Not a problem.
He paused for a moment, his smile still partially remaining and the sound of her heels clicking on the paved ground echoed around them. Colton wondered how she had gotten into that predicament anyways. It wasn't like she'd stolen anything from the old bat and vaguely felt bad for the chickens stuffed in their crates. God, that would suck to be a chicken.
You're Bliss Scott, right?
The eighteen year old asked, breaking the growing silence that had started to drape over them. He had seen Bliss in the hallways around the school and had said a quick hello to her but had never really talked to the blonde bombshell. It was lucky for both of them; if she hadn't gone along with his plan of rescue then he'd be shunned and mortified. Also, if no one had come to get Bliss out of her predicament, she might've had to resort to something a bit drastic to get away with a bit of pride left. Technically, it was a win win situation.
His mind wandered again as he thought of the stunned look of the old chinese woman. It made him chuckle and shake his head; things like that only happened in movies. Truthfully, he was still amazed that everything went so smoothly.
Did you see that bag's face? It looked like she had seen a Greek God or something. I swear, her jaw dropped to the ground she was so shocked.
Giving a laugh, he then looked down at the cobblestone street before moving his vision to Bliss again. He wondered if they were close to the music store everyone was raving about. Giving a glance around, he then saw the building and another wide grin appeared on his face. This day was getting better and better.
The music store everyone's talking about is at the end of this street. I'm taking a look if you want to come; or do you have something else planned for tonight?
He asked curiously, although wouldn't be offended if she didn't go with him to the store. It wasn't as if she was obligated to hang around with him after he'd gotten her out of that tight spot. That was the nice thing about Colton; he'd jump the moon for you but never ask anything for return.
