Playing you like I can Shoving it in your face I never wanted to change your world I only want the simple things
Jayda had been lazing around the dorms when her green eyes looked out the western window. The sun was peeking through the clouds, casting a golden glow upon the lands making the frost bitten leaves glimmer. This was a day to take an adventure to the park. Gathering her belongings, Jayda slipped on the nearest shoes which were heels believe it or not, she then moved out of the door and down the hallway to the elevator. There was no way she was going down the four flights of stairs in heels; she'd probably fall down and find herself bloody and mangled at the landing.
The seventeen year old moved from the steel box into the lobby of the dorms. Jade eyes quickly moved from the comfortable chairs by a blazing fire to the doors that kept the chilled air from the heated building. Her heels gave a thudded noise as they tred across a stupidly clean rug that welcomed people coming in and directed the ones leaving. Pushing open the double doors with her left hand, she stepped out into the winded air. The chill smacked her in the face and caused her to take a quick and deep inhalation of surprise. It was colder than she initially thought and instinctively wrapped her jacket tighter around her slender body.
Jayda moved across the campus towards the park. It was her favourite place to be. The suns rays hit the orange, red, brown and yellow leaves that had fallen to the ground and cast a brilliant light upon them, making their colours even more radiant and stunning. Her dirty blonde hair shimmered in the sunlight, exposing many colours that made up her long locks. The wind parted her hair as it swept through the silky pieces, exposing the red, gold, brown, silver, mahogany, tan, yellow, sand and clay colours. Jade hued eyes fell upon a large willow that looked rather inviting with its sweeping branches that seemed to dance with the breeze in an enchanting number. A light smile appeared on her lips as she neared the beautiful piece of nature.
A scarf protected her neck in a sort of sophisticated manner although that wasn't really the idea; she'd just thrown her outfit together. A simple coat and pants that comfortably clung to her waist and long legs and heels to add the little bit of height to her already five foot seven frame. The seventeen year old found a spot by the trunk and leaned her naturally petite body on the rough but soothing bark. She let her mind wander and stunning green eyes close. Her thoughts took hold and ran away with her as the familliar breeze caressed her cheek and played with her long hair. Her hands found paradise in the pockets of her jacket as her mind thought of Dolon; his familliar face, sparkling eyes and a smile that always made even the crappiest days wonderful. In an instant, her mind fell from Dolon to Pete and how she wanted to figure him out. He always left her guessing and stayed in her mind even when she did have a boyfriend that she was completely happy with. What was wrong with her? Why did she want more when Dolon gave her everything?

What was there to do for a guy who lay on his bed, flat on his stomach, while the music fill his bored ears? Dolon rolled over and lightly scratched his belly. A sigh escaped him, a deep one, one that almost reverberated off the walls back at him. With force, he flung his arms out. His big hands flopped over the edges of the bed as if they had no life in them. They were hands, after all. In nothing but a pair of gray, draw-string sweatpants, Dolon rolled over the side of the bed until he was upright and on his feet, and stretched his arms high above his head, arching his back, even. He headed to the dresser where he looked through his drawers to find a pair of black jeans and light gray t-shirt. Pulling them over his head, he saw nothing but gray for a few spare moments, before his head broke through the hole, and his room became visible to him once again.
He then proceeded to strip out of his sweatpants, where he was basically naked underneath. On went the blue, gray and white striped boxer briefs, and over that went the black jeans. He buttoned and zipped them closed over his hips. The crotch of his pants hung low, the back close to hanging off his butt. Everything down his legs hung snugly, though. He sighed, stretched again, walked to the other side of his room and fidgeted in front of the mirror for a few wasted seconds. Finally Dolon grabbed his sweatshirt and slid into his black slip on shoes. As he slid his arms through each sleeve he hunted around in his upper bed-side table drawer to find his goddam room key and his cell phone. Finally, he located both, and was zipping himself up.
By the time Dole made his way down the hall, trotted down the stairs, and exited out the door, he had decided on calling up Jayd and asking her to meet him somewhere. He reached into his pocket and fumbled for a bit before he found the silver flip phone. The buttons lit up in front of his face as he pressed in each memorized number button. Ringing, a very electronic ringing, could be heard in Dolon's ear as he waited for an answer on the other end. Maybe they'd go for a walk somewhere. Probably around campus. Wait. Why hadn't he thought to check her dorm? Genius, Dolon. Pure genius. Anyhow, he walked on, still hearing that ring and waiting for the answer.

Everything shines But leaves me empty still Take what you need From me.
Her thoughts took her on a rollercoaster ride of emotions to say the least. She thought of when Pete had exploded at her and the way he looked at her before he left the room. That had practically stabbed her in the heart. She thought her insides would bleed until she drowned. Epic, yes. Over reacting, yes. Was that normal, no. Jayda thought of how he looked up on stage with his guitar. It was a look of pure contentment that she would never forget. Jayda's head rested on the thick, gnarly trunk of the graceful tree when her pocket vibrated and sent out an array of tunes that indicated an incoming call. Snapping from her daydream, the seventeen year old glanced around, looking a bit confused, before realizing the noise was coming from her pocket. Sighing, Jayda found the phone her parents had reluctantly given her permission to buy and took it from her pocket. Piercing green eyes found the screen and read the caller I.D. Immediately she felt an overwhelming amount of guilt as her thumb pressed the OK key. Lifting the blue phone to her ear, she spoke although her tone covered the screaming her brain was sending. Hey Dole. What're you up to?Her words were sent through the mic to her boyfriend on the other side of the conversation. She wondered what he was up to and vaguely felt responsible for his call. Jayda moved from her resting place to move from the tree. A burst of wind flicked her hair from spilling over her shoulders to fly back away from her features. Instinctively, Jayda moved towards the campus although would rather stay in the park. It was tranquil at this time of day but held a jogger or two. Finding a bench, the seventeen year old stepped up onto the seat and sat down on the top of the wooden surface. It was clean and over looked a small pond that was positioned nearby. The sun's reflection shimmered off the glassy surface as green eyes surveyed the home to different species of animals and insects alike. Why wasn't the world this simple and uncomplicated?

The wait seemed to take years, and Dolon wondered if she'd answer at all, or if he'd have to leave a message explaining his call. He hated answering machines. They made him feel far too uneasy, whereas a call would just let him say things, in an extended amount of time. He didn't feel guilty, like he had to explain himself to get out of trouble. Why he felt that way over a simple answering machine, he didn't know, but the feeling was there all the same. Finally, the line clicked, signaling an answer, and Dolon felt relieved. He put on a smile, naturally, as if she was there with him for him to smile to. It was silly how he did this--there wasn't anyone around. "Jayda, hi." He was about to tell her who he was, but she had just mentioned his name. Caller ID was a strange thing, but he shrug this off and continued. "Nothing much. I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out?" He hadn't sensed any extra feeling her voice. This was probably a good thing, because he would have either felt she was feeling down, and would have asked what was wrong, or he would have felt that he was the problem, and it would have made him feel even worse yet. "Go somewhere, probably? I don't know. Walk around?" He waited patiently for some answer on the other end. This was Dolon in a nutshell. Always waiting.
In his mind, Jayda was excellent. The perfect girlfriend for him, the perfect person. He had never dated anyone before her, so his relationship with Jayda was a big deal to him. A big deal that he shared with all of his close guy friends. No one knew how relieved he was to have her in his life, no one, really, except for himself. Having her in his life meant no interest in boys, which would have surely brought him over the edge. Jayda prevented his biggest fear from becoming a reality. It was unclear, however, if Dolon was actually attracted to her, or if he just kept her around for his own selfish benefit. He knew he had been attracted to her when they first met. But it was different now. It was different in a way he couldn't place, and it worried him, but he also brushed it off. Everything, for once in his life, was fine. He didn't have to worry about every aspect of every day anymore.
