colton. "winter, winter couldn't come quicker!" a familiar voice sung, with the lyric echoing throughout the park. thick, large headphones suffocated her ears with music, as the soles belonging to a pair of sneakers kicked against the concrete. remy was taking a rather pleasant walk, which was free of any worry and complicated thought. but i couldn't lie, she did, on occasion, glance around every so often. the petite little structure of hers carried on with the walk, singing loud and proud. the fellow walkers and cyclers would toss remy dirty looks and near-death glares, which the girl would be too ignorant to catch. she continued her steady stride and sung; was it really a wonder why she wasn't a singer instead of a drummer? "merry christmas baby, the only thing on my wishlist maybe!" remy continued, bopping her head around. it was until then did she swirl around in a full circle. if you're wondering why remy was singing a Christmas song when it was well past the New Years, then don't expect a definite answer. remy was a random little freak, and the fact that she wasn't very religious seemed to be a humourous matter. but she enjoyed the song, with the lyrics telling a story about a long distance relationship and a cheery melody. not to mention the fact that the hopeful song pretty much broke her heart, in the good way that is, with it's romantic sense to it. the minutes rolled, and fortunuately for the other guests attending the park, the song ended. remy's laziness stopped her from playing it again, so she just continued to stroll along the sidewalks. it wasn't until she got rather bored with herself that she plopped down on the grass. autumn leaves crunched under her frame, and they continued to after she settled down on her stomache. her fingers dug through the broken leaves, in a playful search for any interesting bugs. as her fingers searched, they collided into several roly-polies. it was entertaining watching them curl into balls and roll on the coarse surface. a handful of ladybugs were scattered here and there, while a colorful caterpillar was caught nibbling on some of the leaves. a strange person she was, no doubt about it, but she didn't care. her attire consisted of a simple, grey sweater that comfortably hugged her upper torso, a pair of dark-wash, tight skinny jeans, and black high-tops with white pinstripes running vertically. isn't it a surprise she was dressing like a normal person? her hair was gathered into a low, messy, side-ponytail, allowing it to rest on her right shoulder. remy disengaged her contact with the little bugs, now rolling onto her back. her hazel eyes settled on the sky above her, maybe even beyond the sky. white, bloated clouds roamed freely in those same skies, as remy made out shapes and simple outlines of animals. how funny it was that remy could be singing so boldly one minute and then messing with the bugs the next and end up here, staring so peacefully at the sky. yes, very funny. ooc, haha hope it's okay. Colton had been busting his butt at a practice session for about two hours. It had been intense and filled him with a crazy feeling of energy and spunk. After playing for an incredulously long time, he still had a nasty surge of adrenaline and felt hopped up on drugs; although he's been clean for almost a year.
Bursting out of the school's doors, his ipod in hand and volume up full blast, he took off at a fast paced jog. He found himself entering the park and so increased his pace. The music thumped in his mind, drowning out many natural aspects of a well maintained park. His wrists and hands flicked as he played the drums in the air to the beat of the song.
Getting into the upbeat and fast paced song, he leaped into the air and swivelled, making his hair fly and body go every which way before landing and continuing on. Moving in and out of normal joggers, he turned and now moved backwards, giving a grin at the outraged exercisers. What he didn't know is that Remy had come along this way not too long ago as well and the runners were wondering what the hell had gone wrong in today's society; a girl singing and bobbing and twirling and now some crazy guy, playing air drums, banging his head and leaping everywhere.
Colton turned back around and looked at a tall, strong tree. Something about that tree drew his attention and it wasn't until his eyes wandered from the thick branches and down the sturdy trunk when he realized what had drawn him to this particular specimen of plant life. It was a girl. Not just any girl, the girl. Remy Barboza; fellow drummer, original and fantastic Remy. She was all smiles and sunshine unlike most of the dramatic, googly eyed, brainless girls that resided at Hoffman. Maybe that's what drew Colton to Remy but then again, who wants to be the same as everyone else? Not him.
Slowing his steps, he turned off the blasting song and removed the ear buds from their place, shoving them into the pocket of his zip up. Chest heaving a bit from the quick bout of energy and exercise, Colton walked silently towards Remy, moving in a way that he hoped she wouldn't hear him approaching. Halting a step away from her, he leaned over her lying body so that his face was intruding her vision of the lovely clouds. A smile appeared on his face, brightening his features with joy.
Good day Starshine... The morning says, Hello!
His familliar accent lifted the air as his aqua eyes watched her face for a reaction.

IN ALL THIS CHAOS WE FOUND SAFETY, I WILL NEVER FIND THIS LOVE AGAIN. as her fragile frame laid motionless in the leaves, remy allowed her thoughts to clear. her fingers drummed against the material of her sweater, while her eyes took the occupation of dazing into the sky. she reserved this time to sort out her thoughts, letting them float through a little line reserved for inspection, one by one. remy cleared the past week out of the way, with those little tumbles and encounters she had along the way. yet, the girl held onto a particular memory, grasping onto it closely.
it was a memory of a boy, an important boy, that may have had a huge impact on her. okay, well not in the way that she wanted to save the world now, even though she had that goal, but in the way that he made a pretty, little dent on her heart. colton was remy's definition of perfect; he was just so... everything. there was no doubt about it that he made her heart flutter and sink at the same time. yet, that was the exact reason why she was so scared to think of him even though he already pleasantly haunted her mind; but the thought of him killing him horrified her to somewhat of an extent that made him even more.. attractive? (and this was a paranoid freak liking him.) it was obvious there was some sort of mad crush developing for this guy, yet she only met him once.
that would soon change though, even if the girl wasn't quite prepared. remy's thoughts drifted off to somewhat pleasant daydreams, after she was finished with that little, incomplete session of collecting her thoughts. remy departed her mind with an abrupt blink, as she suddenly spotted a familiar face blocking her view. of course, in remy's case it took a few seconds to finally realize who it was. colton.
her expression transformed into a vibrant grin and her eyes lightened up a bit (not literally, aha), as she finally lifted her body off of the ground. there were bits of broken, dead leaves stuck to the back of her sweater, but she didn't give a care at that particular moment. "coltonn!" she exclaimed, before realizing that he would probably blow out an eardrum if she continued like this. "er, i mean- um, haha sorry." she laughed, letting her cheeks briefly flush. she looked around for a moment, before lifting her head up towards him.
"so, would it be appropriate for me to say that i missed you?" she playfully kidded, sinking her hands into her pockets.
ooc; bahh, sorry it took so lo- woah, look at all these grey hairs i have!

Colton's lips held a light smile as a fuller one tugged at the corners although he kept it down. Curious eyes watched her as he saw the stages in which she snapped from her daydream. It was first confusion as she saw his face right above hers and then instant happiness which made a grin appear on the Australian's face.
He stepped back, allowing her to stand, a laugh exiting his lips as he heard her exclaimation towards him. His chest still heaved a bit and his smile grew wider as she stumbled over her words again. He thought it was terribly adorable. Shaking his head over her last sentance, he then resumed his attention to Remy while speaking.
Only as appropriate as me saying the same.
His words were spoke simply, his smile still lighting his face. Why was it that whenever he was with Remy, which was twice but still, she always managed to get a smile on his face even when he'd been having a miserable day? One could guess and they'd probably be right.
Colton's aquamarine eyes noticed a brown piece of forest sticking out from its hiding place on Remy back. He gave a laugh before moving closer to her.
Turn around. There's something on your back.
His instructions were spoke with seriousness but had a playful edge to them. He was going to get the leaves off her back before she became a walking camoflauge and got enrolled in the British army. Colton could just see her with the camo suit, big boots and heavy helmet on which almost erupted his vocals into a howling laughter. Man, that would be hilarious.
