history On August 12th 1989 twenty-year-old Bethany Hamilton gave birth to her first daughter, Abigail Elizabeth. Bethany had always wanted a child and was as wonderful as a single mother could possibly be. But of course she wasn't always around. She worked odd hours at both of her jobs and often left Abi with her grandmother, whom they lived with at the time.
When Abigail was four her mother married a man by the name of Alexander Parkinson. He was a good man and tried very hard to fill the position her father never had, but it was never the same. Sure, Abi loved him like a father, but he wasn't her father. They never spoke of her father. The only thing Abi knew of him was his name, Sean Ellogram.
Just a year after Bethany married Alex, Abi's younger brother was born. Dalton was the apple of his father's eye and one of the sweetest kids, but as the two children grew up they grew apart. Dalton resented his father giving Abi any attention at all and seeing as he was younger he naturally got more attention. At first this bothered Abi, but as she got older she became use to it.
When she was 13 her mother gave birth to her younger sister, Bevin. Abigail loved the idea of having a younger sister. It had to be better than having a little brother because all Dalton wanted to do was wrestle or play video games. Bevin wasn't as much fun as Abi had hoped. She was far too young to do anything but sit around and giggle, but Abi loved her anyway.
At the age of five she began to show an interest in singing. She would sing into her toy microphone for hours, causing Dalton to scream and cry. When she was 9 they enrolled her in a local children's chorus and theater. She enjoyed every minute of it and soon let it consume so much of her time that she couldn't possibly focus on her studies in public school. When she was eleven they put her in a private school in attempt to solve this problem. Around this time she developed a love for classical music, unlike most kids her age. She worked her way into her middle school's highest choir and competed in local pageants for a chance to sing for an audience. When she turned 12 they put her in private voice lessons to further her training. She began with baby art songs like everyone does, but it was thrilling to her. She fell in love with foreign language and opera as a whole. In the eighth grade her mother knew that she would need to go to an arts high school. They quickly enrolled her in Hoffman, an elite boarding school where she could enhance her talent among students who were like her.
Since she's been here her voice had grown leaps and bounds. She shows true potential for the future. But not only has the school helped her talent but it has also helped her as a person.

personality Bubbly and Spontaneous. These are the first two words that come to mind when describing Abigail. Rarely seen without a smile, she is one of the happiest people you'll ever meet. She can turn an insult into a compliment with the blink of an eye. Constructive criticism isn't a problem either, she doesn't take it offensively. She'll simply smile, nod, and be on her way.
So how do you get on Abi's bad side? It's not an easy feat but people have managed it. She absolutely hates people with egos. Confidence is one thing, but placing yourself on a pedestal is another. Watch yourself around her, If you give off a mightier than thou attitude she might might just take you down a notch. With a smile on her face of course.
While we're on the topic of confidence lets discuss Abi's. She knows she's good at what she does, but she also knows there are people who are better. Improvements can always be made to her voice and she's always willing to listen to helpful hints and critiques. Her confidence doesn't only extend to her voice. She's confident in everything she does including her appearance and her actions.
She's not all smiles and bubbles, though. When Abi has a task in front of her she is quite intense. She'd never be late for a rehearsal or show up to class unprepared. When it comes to her vocal career she is serious. She'd never do anything to jeopardize that. This is why cigarettes are a major no no. Not that she hasn't tried them. She'll try almost anything once, but she'd never put her voice at risk for a high.
Just because she is optimistic about people she meets doesn't mean she's trusting. Sure, she'd love to be everyones friend but she is cautious and very observant. When she's interacting with someone she pays attention to every detail, making sure not to miss a thing. If you're up to something she'll find out. Don't think because she's smiley she's dumb. She'll give you the benefit of the doubt when she first meets you, but don't try to play with her. She'll figure it out.
Behind the goody two shoes exterior is a girl who thrives on adventure. She feeds off thrill. If it's sneaking out of her dorm room to go to a party or riding her favorite roller coaster over and over again. Abi loves a good adrenaline rush and while at school those are sometimes hard to find without breaking rules. In her mind if you break a rule and don't get caught, it doesn't count. She's not the kind of girl who is content to spend Friday night curled up in her dorm with her favorite book. She'd much rather be out dancing, partying the night away and if she has to break a few school rules to do that, then so be it.
Her main flaw is her competitive nature. It's not that she thinks she better than everyone else because she knows she isn't, but she loves to compete and she loves to win. It's connected to the adrenaline rush. Nerves kick and she feeds of of that. It's a rush and winning is even better. Sure, she's disappointed when she loses because she wants to prove she's good, but she only beats herself up if she messed up her performance. It can't be less than perfect in her eyes.
Thats another major flaw. She's a perfectionist. One wrong note, and she's beating herself up for weeks. She works her music over and over again to prevent messing up in a performance because it literally eats her up inside. It's not just her voice either. She won't leave her dorm if her hair is out of place or her make up isn't just right. It's almost an obsession.
To sum things up Abi has a smile for everyone and always has something nice to say. She can find the best in people even when they can't find it in themselves. She often decides to do things on a whim and for no reason at all, and behind the good girl facade lies an adrenaline junkie who'll try anything at least once.

portrayed by? Mary Elizabeth Winstead eyes Brown hair Brown height5'9" style The best work to decribe Abi's style would probably be classy. This girl usually wears skirts with nice tops and heals to add to it. Though, she does ahve days when all she feels like wearing are jeans and even then she never looks even remotely slobby. She alsways looks quite put together and stylish. She wouldn't leave her dorm room if she didn't. No one will ever see her without every hair in place and her make up just perfect. If you do then you know something has got to be wrong. Overall, She's a cute girl who takes quite a bit of pride in her appearance.
