Beau’s birth was one of the oddest things the city of Paris has seen in quite a while. His mother, Alice Acel, on the day of his birth traveled to the Efile tower, most of the time unheard of when she is two weeks late on her due date. She felt just fine that day so she went to the talk, it was always calming for her to sit up there. However, before being there for just five minutes she went into labor. Luckily there was also a doctor present, an American of the name James Bettencourt. When James finally got Alice to the hospital, she told him the story of how her husband, Maurice had died before she had found out she was pregnant. Alice expressed her deep gratitude toward James, saying that her baby was the only thing she had now. So that is how Beau entered this world.

His mother wasn’t well off and life was hard on Beau and Alice for most of his younger years. He went to a catholic school and he hated it. His mother was never religious and so it just made him have this angst when the nuns and priests would say his sins would lead him straight. However fate stepped in when Beau was eight. James Bettencourt, returned to Paris, recently divorcing his wife. He immediately sought out Alice, having wondered her fate these many years. But something was different between them and not three months later, they were married. James wasn’t the only addition to the family, he also brought along his daughter Anatole. Beau was hesitant towards her, his whole life he’d only known his mother as the only female in his life. Beau was hesitant toward his new father, he’d never had one so he didn’t know how to act or what to say around him. But James was the perfect gentleman, he made Beau feel loved and protected.

There were many changes that came with this new lifestyle. Beau took his stepfather’s name, his mother and he moved into James’s townhouse, and Beau was moved out of his horrible Catholic school to a nicer private school. When Beau got into middle school, he joined the drama department and he loved it. He loved being someone else, even if it was only for a short while. He played Romeo in the school play which being a Parisian just sent him over the edge as a romantic. Then when Beau had just finished the eighth grade, James and Alice broke the news to him that James had been offered a very prestigious position at London Medical and Research Center. They told Beau that they were moving as soon as he finished school. Beau wasn’t furious, Beau had never really been furious about something, but Beau was mad. He was just getting into high school and he was sad to leave his drama department, and Paris in particular.

The only thing that cheered him up was the fact that James was enrolling him into Hoffman Academy of the Arts. Beau knew that he was made for the stage and this just brought him one step closer. When Beau first arrived he had never actually considered the whole language barrier thing. But boy did it get annoying, he knew a little English from James, but he felt alienated from a lot of his classmates the first year because he could only speak some English. England did other things to him, it introduced him to the party scene. He had never been one for big partying in Paris, of course he had considered himself just a kid then. England didn’t care what you did and when you did it. Beau picked up smoking and some hard partying those first two years. It wasn’t still his junior year that he picked up on the whole drug scene.

The good thing about Beau is he knows when to stop he knows that he will get caught by James or by Alice sooner or later, so he keeps his habits to a minium and keeps them a secret. So Beau has entered his final year of Hoffman Academy determined to make it his best.
