history
Peter’s story is a sob story to say the least. It isn’t like most sob stories though, Peter’s is the worst kind to come around because Pete had to watch his parents die on the news. Pete had to know every detail of the day that they died and Pete couldn’t stand it. I’m getting ahead of myself though, let’s start from the beginning and know how Pete is who is now. Hold onto your heart. Peter Blue Monroe was born to Paul and Cassandra Monroe in the city that never sleeps. It was his first and only home, he knew he was meant to be there ever since the day he was old enough to express it. The way he expressed it was even more different than any other. He picked up guitar when he was three years old and he basically never put it down. His parents were thrilled his father was on the side record producer, even though he kept a straight laced job as a financier. His mother was also a financier, they both worked in the World Trade Center., but not to ruin a fairy tale before it is over.
Pete was happy, he was healthy, and he was amazingly smart. He was the golden child, his life was perfect. His father would take him to any type of music festival that he could put his hands on. They would spend the summer going to concerts, and Pete was content. He went to a private school in the heart of New York, where all of his friends were really his friends none of them were fakes. However it all changed, it all changed in one moment. Pete was twelve years old, and he lost everything he had ever loved. The day was September 11th and that’s the day that Pete became an orphan. The day that his heart broke and the day he could never do anything about. Both of Pete’s parents were killed and the worst part was that no one told him what had happened for three days. His mother’s sister from London flew in as fast as she could while Pete stayed his friends of his parents. It was three days before anyone told him that he would never see his parents again. The day was September 14th, and that was the day that Pete broke completely.
Arrangements were made and Pete’s things were packed from his house for him. He wasn’t allowed to say goodbye to the rooms he had spent his childhood in. His aunt packed his bags and took him off to London, his father’s guitar collection and all. It wasn’t till then that Paul started singing. Before he had never even thought about it, but his songs were so sad to him that he couldn’t let anyone else sing them for him. He had to get it out and it was his songs that did it for him. Although it did help that the drugs pulled him into his high. By the time that his aunt had enrolled him in Hoffman Academy, Pete was already to far gone for there to be any hope. Hoffman only made it harder for him. Pete had never felt more out of place in his entire life. It wasn’t that he was antisocial, in New York he had been just like every other person. Here he was some musical genius, hailed for being brilliant and such a talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist. To put it easier he was hailed as a teacher’s pet, even though everyone knew about his drug use. They stayed away from him, and Pete just felt lost and found with every step he took.

personality
loner As you can tell from his history, Pete is the most loner type of guy you could get. He doesn’t have many friends and people tend to think he’s stuck up because of it. Which he isn’t he just has never felt connected with anyone. Maybe it is because he is scared. He lost the two single most important people in his life and he’s scared. Scared that if he ever gets close to anyone that they will just leave him to. He should probably go to therapy for something like that, but his guitar is his therapy. As a senior this year, Pete has sort of come to accept that he isn’t going to build any new relationships and believe it or not, he’s fine with it. He’s so accustomed to it that it won’t matter.
intelligent. Pete is very intelligent no matter what he says. It isn’t just guitar, although he is quite a genius when it comes to that. But he’s smart he can do math problems like crazy get the meaning out of Shakespeare in a millisecond. Although it doesn’t really mean anything to him, his aunt isn’t exactly attentive to his studies so she never noticed how smart he is. Without any motivation it’s hard to like something. The only thing that keeps Pete on the guitar is knowing that his parents would have wanted him to keep it up, never to give up on it.
gentleman. Even though no one really likes Pete, and he doesn’t have friends. He is a gentleman none the less. Unlike the other burnouts of Hoffman Pete is the perfect example of everything a boy should be at nineteen years old. He will hold the door open for girls, he will not raise his voice in public, and he is completely courteous to his elders. Unlike other kids who when they loose their parents they loose it completely. Pete only loose it when he knows he can handle it, or when he can’t bear to be lonely anymore. He knows when to laugh and when to cry and he knows when it’s time to do a couple of lines of coke and the time when you need to drink you tears away.
likes guitar, singing, writing songs, sad stories, long walks to no where, hot chocolate, drugs, weird sunglasses, handwritten letters, apologies, punk rock, techno, cats, leather jackets, dislikes thinking about his parents, new york, dogs, cheerleaders, talking, tea, cake, burnt cds, hot weather, suede jackets, milk, sweatshirts, ambitions _to find himself _to be loved _to live and let live fears _losing the people he loves again _losing his mind _messing up and not being able to fix it
