Nic’s life is not the fairy tale of most. The past is not what made him what he is today, it is the present living in the moment that has made him who he is. He is proud of it to say the least. Nic was born the second son of Joni and William Gregory. His elder brother was senior to him by just one year, which made them something along the lines of Irish twins. However there was nothing similar about Jake and Nic. Even though they were considered similar in looks and all that jazz, Jake was the wild child. Nic felt overshadowed by him for most of his very young childhood, not in awe of him as it was supposed to be. Nic and Jake lived in cool seclusion of each other. At the tender age of seven though, Nic’s parents noticed that he was superb student in school and especially in art class. After numerous teachers expressed his creative aptitude and his parents had applied for him to join workshops they made the decision that Nic would be a far better student at a school for the arts.

So they sent him away from his native Georgia, the place he had always known. At the beginning of his sixth grade year he started Albers Academy in New York City. It was like a dream there, everything was so peaceful they would eat lunch in the courtyard go and paint on the rooftops. They would take long field trips to the Met and watch the street painters in battery park. Nic got into this peaceful mode that he hasn’t grown out of yet. He would return each summer to visit his family but every year it just got more and more boring so he stayed with his friends in the city. All the while he never got a relationship with his brother, who seemed to be out of control but his parents
