history
“She crept along the ground, making sure she wouldn’t be heard by the evil dragon, who’s feet were so big they could crush a castle and who’s roar was so deafening that it blotted out every other sound you could hear. Young Melissa, the beautiful warrior princess had to defend her kingdom so she fearlessly stood infront of the dragon and said “Leave this kingdom be!” the dragon roared and used his large paw to swat the young princess away.” “MATT! that’s not fair!” Melissa would complain as she and her brother played when they were young. “This dragon is large and brutal, you cannot defeat him” he would reply, giving an evil chuckle. “Oh yeah?” she said, putting her determined face back on. She ran in front of the evil dragon and stabbed him right in the heart with a scream of triumph. “Nothing is undefeatable but me!” The dragon swayed a little, clutching the sword that had pierced his impenetrable armour. “How can this be?” the dragon said, his voice faint. “You must be the chosen one…” and he fell to the ground, dead. The warrior princess headed back to the castle and told her citizens “Its okay, the dragon is dead. You are safe.” and they all brought her cookies in return for her unfailing valour.”
Melissa and her older brother Matt had lived in a world of imagination and magic when they were young. That was one of the many games they used to play with each other around the stump. The stump was the castle, sticks were the swords, Matt was the dragon and ofcourse, Melissa was the warrior princess. Those were the days that made Mel smile. When the other two brothers came along, Jacob was far too serious to play imaginary games with them so he excluded himself, he thought that playing was a waste of time. Tyler however loved playing with Melissa, and they played the hero together against the evil Matt. They had so much fun, and sometimes they even got Jacob in as Matthew’s evil henchmen, and Jacob found that he enjoyed himself. I think all of the kids remember those days as their happiest, because they were. When they were playing in an imaginary world they were distracted for the real one and nothing could bring their spirits down. But it was all too good to last, and her brother Matt and their parents something that made the other children upset. Matthew was going to a literature school in California, America.
The games were never the same after that, no matter how hard even Jacob tried to enjoy himself, the games had an eerie hollowness to them, Matt was the heart and sole of the kids and without him, they all doubted they could ever have fun again. Melissa cried and begged her parents to not let him go, but at the time she didn’t realize what a good opportunity it was. He was accepted into one of the greatest literature schools in the world. And The Harding’s were all about good opportunities. Melissa was born into one of the most respected families in all of London, they were wealthy and considered snobbish. Melissa never really was like them, she was always doing adventurous things and breaking the rules. Jacob was a complete image of their father, that’s why he never enjoyed the games as much as they did, he didn’t have an imagination. Tyler however idolised Melissa, so followed in her footsteps and caused his parents some hell. Matthew was the glue that held everything together, the perfect balance between all the children. As he was the one who made up all of their games, there was no doubt that he would be a good writer. The parents were constantly yelling at them to behave, though not unkindly.
Melissa, like Matthew, was very talented. She had the amazing ability to act, well, its not that amazing but her natural capability of it was. Her mother noticed that she was gifted and she sent her to an acting school to see how she liked it. Mel of course, loved it. She looked forward to going to every class and seeing her friends. Melissa knew that the other families were unfortunate, and couldn’t afford some of the things that Melissa and her family could, so she kept the fact that her and her family was wealthy to herself. She easily became the best in the class and although she could do theatre and stage acting easily, but it was evident that her true talent lied with cinema. She dreamed about it at night, being a famous actor with her name in lights and people screaming her name as she walked down the red carpet in a designer dress that made her utterly desirable to any man attending the Hollywood premier. Yes, her thoughts were vivid as if it was actually happened. Every night she looked forward to sleeping so that she’d get another glimpse into the life that she wanted so desperately.
But Melissa knew, just like she did when Matt had to leave, that all good things come to an end. It was the end performance of the year and Melissa played the main character. She looked absolutely stunning even though she was playing Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. The drama group had begun to join with the dance group to make a spectacular show, and with Melissa starring in it, there was no doubt that the show would be a hit. Melissa enjoyed performing more then anything, but as it was not her best style of work she knew that she wasn’t playing out to her full potential. This showed when she acted, she wasn’t happy on stage and everyone could see and the show suffered. Her teacher pulled her to one side before the last show and told her about Hoffman. It was one of the best Art schools in all of London and her teacher thought that Melissa would have a chance against all of the other students. Melissa smiled brightly that night and performed the best she had done in her life, she was inspired and enjoying being on stage. She had a sense of purpose now. So her life at the Drama school ended, and her one at Hoffman just began.
Melissa received the letter in the mail a few weeks later saying that they would be delighted to have her at Hoffman but she would still have to work hard. She knew that too, she knew that she would have to work hard and that everything wouldn’t be laid out on a platter for her. A lot of other people wanted the exact same thing as she did and she needed to get it, so she would have to work hard and show the teachers what she has got. She settled in at Hoffman quickly and made some of her closest friends there. She still keeps the secret that she is rich from them all, and that she is close from her family, they think that the reason she doesn’t talk about her life at home is because she hates it there, but it’s so that she doesn’t have to lie. She is know attending Hoffman full-time, shacking up in the dorms, as well as hanging around and getting into all sorts of mischief. Melissa likes her life, it couldn’t be any better, but she knows that something’s going to happen. Something is going to change everything. All good things don’t last. They never do.

personality
Melissa Harding has definitely earned her last name, even though it was given to her by her father. She’s renowned for being a bitch with a cold hard attitude and that’s exactly what she is. She is not one to back down when its something important, especially when it is to prove a point. She knows that at times she is wrong but she also knows that she can be right, and she tries hard to prove she is. She doesn’t often believe that she’s got it wrong, and she finds it hard to accept that she is. She’s not the good sportsmanship type, she can’t accept that she’s loosing even when she is. She’ll question every authority and rule if she is, and she’ll blame it on everyone else. Sometimes it can be considered annoying, but sometimes it’s helpful. She’s judgemental, which means she’ll come up with an opinion about you before she’s gotten to know you. The scary thing is though, that a lot of the time she is right and people just keep proving it that. There is the occasional time that she is wrong and sometimes she likes being wrong about a person, it makes guessing the next’s persons personality and history more of a challenge.
It takes a lot to become one of Melissa’s friends, it’s not a term she will just throw about like some people will. She is friends with a lot of people but they didn’t get their easy, they will have had to have shown her something that took her breath away or proved that they are worth it. Things like buying her gifts don’t work, but sticking up for someone in a fight, saying a joke that makes her laugh days later, proving that you don’t take peoples shit might help you get on her good side. Once your part of her crowd, it doesn’t take much to stay in but once you’ve joined and you have been kicked out, you are most likely gonna be out for good unless you have some seriously quick thinking. She’s popular in the groups of people who aren’t completely plastic and fake, its like a war between the two cliques. Mel doesn’t really care what you do to be at Hoffman, she only cares about your personality, you score high in that category, your well on your way to being her friend. Melissa is well known for sticking up for her friends and she buys them a lot of gifts. But that’s not the only reason they hang around her, she is also a really good friend. She listens to peoples problems because they distract her from her own, and she has an uncanny knack of getting people to trust her.
Melissa has a terrible temper; it can be sparked by the smallest of things. She sometimes can hold her temper, but still then she tends to snap. It’s when she’s angry that you’ve got to worry about her. She can get incredibly vicious as well as mean and heartless, She doesn’t hold her tongue and will usually say the brutal truth. She is also stronger when she is annoyed, her punches get fiercer but a little less accurate depending on how pissed off she is. Her language gets more vulgar then usual and she will say the words that she usually holds back. She hurts a lot of people when she’s angry, and breaks a lot of things, but to actually make her really angry it takes a lot. She gets a little moody at times, and can get a little aggressive but to realise her inner demon, her really bad temper, you must have hurt her really bad because the one thing she hates, it crying, and if you’ve made her cry… you’ve got a lot coming to you. She’s got attitude, and she uses it often. She hates doing pointless work, so teachers get a lot of attitude and they get told exactly what she’s thinking a lot of the time.
She’s not a bully, but she does like to have a laugh and a lot of the time it is at other people’s expense. The only people that usually call her a bully are those who have annoyed her and have therefore, become her enemy. She doesn’t have a lot of true enemies, only those who she ignores. Sure, a lot of people pretend that they hate her, but obviously they do it because they don’t know what else to feel. Being an actor she is ofcourse over-dramatic, so she sometimes takes things too far but never a joke. She knows the line and she doesn’t step over it, she doesn’t hurt someone’s feelings unless they deserve it. Those who she hates would have to have hurt her bad, because Melissa hates mental pain, its harder to heal then physical. Apologies are something she finds hard to accept because sometimes, it is hard to get past your emotions and forgive somebody, especially if they’ve done something you thought they’d never do. Those who are her enemies tend to look upon Melissa like she is lesser then them because that’s exactly how she looks at them. She doesn’t like pretenders and the plastic people ho think they are all that, and she’ll openly insult them a lot of the time.
When it comes to love, she has never been an expert. She doesn’t even know the true meaning of love, everyone makes it out to be this great thing but she has no idea what to expect other then heartbreak, and so far, she has been fooled to believe that she was in love but they just broke her heart. Obviously it wasn’t love, because when people love each other, they wouldn’t go and hurt their partner like that. She’s not a helpless romantic, or someone who blushes everytime she see’s her crush, infact she’s usually the opposite, she’ll try even harder if they are watching to get them to notice her. Jealousy hits this girl hard, if she see’s her crush with another girl that girl has automatically made her insult list. She gets a little clingy to guys, but not unbearably so, she just gets a little obsessed. She gets over this eventually though, and starts talking about other things, but unfortunately she gets over the guy to. She doesn’t stick at things very often, and the same goes with boys. If they were good enough, they’d do something to keep her hooked, other wise she’ll go looking for the other fishes in the see. She’s a flirt, she can’t help it and that often gives guys the idea that she likes them and they are stupid enough to make a move.
She’s arrogant, she knows that she’s pretty and she’s not afraid to show it. Now she doesn’t go around with everything hanging out and skirts up to here *points at neck*, but she does wear flattering clothes. She often thinks that she is hot and that every guy who talks to her thinks that too. When she’s around a guy she’ll hold herself differently and often pretend that she’s something that she’s not, like a weirdo for instance. She’s not completely weird, she just has some queer habits and does some strange things. It seems that her friends always, though not intentionally, embarrass her over things that she wouldn’t normally be embarrassed over. She is not afraid to get up close with a guy, make it so that their bodies are almost touching, but usually that’s just to get something that she wants. She wasn’t afraid of the occasional lip-lock, but she doesn’t let many people into her pants. She has a few times, being drunk but only once for love. She's likes the sex without meaning, its hurts less when they leave, but she doesn't go around with everybody, she's not a slut.

ambitions
Melissa has often thought about growing up and how she wanted to make it big in acting. She wanted everyone in the world to know her name and want to be with her. Then she thought a little harder about it and although all that stuff would be great, their would also be a lot of minuses about it. She’d have to be a stronger person to take all that. So her main ambition is to grow strong enough to survive the future that she wants.
She also wants love, she wants to experience it and see for herself if it is really as great as everyone says. She also wants a heartbreak, she knows that it will hurt lots and she won’t want it once she has got it, she won’t want it anymore, but it would be a great way to grow. The person who ‘broke her heart’ last time, didn’t really break it, they just let her down.
fears
She is petrified of failing, she doesn’t want to end up like a lot of other people in this business, who either give up n their dream or fail miserably. She could imagine herself a failing and she hates it, its one of her main insecurities.
She is also has a mutual fear of spiders and needles. She can’t stand the thought of the needle piercing her skin and withdrawing blood or putting something into her bloodstream, the very thought of it makes her shiver. Bugs however, she just can’t bring herself to like. She knows its silly to be scared of them because she is much, much bigger then them, but at least she’s not as scary. They can be fascinating, but that doesn’t make them any less creepy. As long as they don’t touch her, she’s not paranoid and scared.

style Melissa’s style is pretty much based on the way she’s feeling. If she’s feeling happy, she will wear something that reflects that, if she’s sad she’ll wear something that comforts her or shows that she’s emotional. When she’s angry, she’ll wear something that is feisty and sexy but she never wears anything slutty. A lot of her outfits have a lot of mismatched bangles and necklaces as well as cute shoes. She wears a lot of dark clothing and she hardly ever wears formal, but when she does get dressed up she looks gorgeous.

sample postDekolette has been known as Taylor for a very long time. It was like a character he hid behind, when he was Taylor he was so much stronger then Dekolette. He knew that sounded silly, but nobody knew the real him, and he liked it that way. It was so much easier pretending that you feel something instead of actually feeling it. Taylor had even started calling himself that and at times it scared him… what if he was pretending so much that Taylor had become him and Dekolette is lost forever. Oh, so, dramatic. Taylor knew he could be Dekolette if he wanted to, he and Taylor weren’t so different, but Dekolette reminded him of his old life, the life that he didn’t want to have. Dekolette would never be lost, but to Taylor he would be. He had thought about the difference between the two versions of himself, and most of it was just the name. No, Dekolette would never be lost but maybe the reason he hides behind Taylor is because Dekolette needs to be found.
Taylor had been getting ready for his writing class. He had always considered himself a talented writer in need of guidance, his mind would think of some of the best stories but when it came to expressing himself of paper he had trouble. Yes, when he tried hard he could write the most beautiful poems and the cutest children’s stories but unless he really tried hard, nothing came out. It was either his best or it was nothing. He was wearing his normal school uniform, the most boring outfit you would ever see. His hair was slightly messy, but still soft and free of dandruff; the ladies seemed to love it. He looked at himself in the mirror and saw the same person staring back at him. The same person he had been staring at for the last 17 years. Only there was something different about him today, something in his chocolate brown eyes told him that something was wrong. It was strange for someone to be reading themselves, but Taylor already knew what was wrong. Taylor knew who had his writing class with. ‘Her’. Delilah Laurent.
Taylor looked away from his reflection, deliberately focussing his thoughts on something else. He grabbed his books and pencil case, and began the walk to the cafeteria. His stomach grumbled furiously, realising now that it had been deprived of food. He yawned sleepily, he hated morning classes. He just had to get through this class and then he could carry on with his Delilah-free day, just like every other day. Writing was his favourite subject, until he realised that she was in it too. He knew he shouldn’t get distracted by her, but he just couldn’t help it. There was deep history there; deep history that both of them, when they saw each other, tried desperately to forget. He waited in line for his cereal, obviously he wasn’t the only one who had morning classes. Once he had grabbed it, he sat and ate on a table with his friends. he was silent as he ate, dwelling on the thoughts in his head. His friends tried to speak to him but, ofcourse, got ignored. You think they’d learn, that he doesn’t speak unless one, he was insulting them or two, he needed to.
He muttered his first word for the day, a goodbye as he set out for his class. Ofcourse, it had to be on the other side of the mansion, but he didn’t mind. Writing was always worth it. This was the first class they had had this year, so Taylor will just have to wait and see whether this one will live up to the reputation it had built itself the year before. He entered the classroom and sat on a table at the far end of the class. He had nothing against being at the front, infact when he was running late he always got one at the front, but he just preferred to be at the back. He never felt like he was being watched there, whereas at the front he could just feel the people’s gazes burning through his head and it distracted him. He was almost free at the back. Apart form the fact that he was stuck in a room with people that he didn’t like. Luckily, only the smarter kids got into the writing class, so most of the people he didn’t like weren’t there. He took out his folder and his pen and placed them on his desk, ready for the class. More and more students arrived until almost every seat was filled. There was one left beside him, and one right at the front, before the teacher’s desk. He began to absent mindedly scribble on his page as he waited for the remaining students and the teacher to arrive.
