There he stands, Poised, still, silent, Sticks in hand, the snare before him The ultimate performance is about to begin.
He starts off innocently enough, Taps and a roll. Nothing spectacular yet, There’s time enough for that.
The speed increases now, His movements become more dramatic, He begins to move with the beats Making himself one with the Rhythms.
His existence is Rhythm Unity with the beats he creates The pounding of the sticks against the drum The sound now enveloping the room.
The audience is transfixed, Entranced by the motion and sound, And he draws them deeper now, Flipping a stick in the air to make it seem easy.
Faster and faster still the beats rattle on His concentration obviously intense. All the rest of the world has disappeared, Save this one man, and this single drum.
Faster and louder, louder and faster still, Stick over stick, beat by beat, Building in a resounding crescendo The one single moment all his work and concentration has built to
Then all is silence.
Music flows from your soul From your fingers with such ease
A look of peace in your eyes You enter your own world
Captivated Captivating me
Can't help but stare Struck speechless by notes The rhythm, a magical air
