Pay attention to the cracked streets & the broken homes
Communication with other towns in something most people take for granted. Simply being able to go to the next mall, or call outside of the immediate area is something the people of Marian do not have the luxury of doing. It hadn't always been so isolated, and it wasn't supposed to turn out the way it did. The Zael were simply trying to keep the towns perfection intact, to avoid the disturbances of the outside world. Some call it slums some, call it nice
The members of the Zael did not know their cause, they did not know their purpose, they were simply brainwashed and tortured to know two things. One was no one was to leave the town. Two was the town was to be kept in order. There was to be no violence, no crime, only peace. Their initial purpose was to be the law enforcement of Marian and there were ordered rules within the group, but overtime all that had been established was lost except for the two basic rules; no one is to leave, and order is to be kept inside the town. They do not need a reason to do what they do, except for the fact that if they step down from their position in the town, they will be sent to jail and probably given the death penalty. Their only goal now is to stay in power, and no one dares challenge them.
I wanna take you through a wasteland I like to call my home
They are still 'enforcing peace', severely punishing those who commit crimes in the public eye. The crimes happening behind closed doors are ignored - most citizens believe the Zael do not see what happens, but they believe there are some crimes that are needed for people to evolve and progress. The Zael are secretive about their members, though it is quite obvious who some of the members are. The Zael run the risk of someone leaking what is happening in the town if someone leaves, so anyone who attempts is either killed or punished so harshly they wish they would have been killed. The phone lines all are out of service, and no calls can be made either in or out of the city. There is no internet, there are no possible ways of communicating with the outside world that the Zael have not prohibited.
Welcome to paradise
The Zael are manipulated by bribes from the wealthy, and while some prefer to live in the vul, others live quite lavishly. The streets are dangerous and broken, and the Zael are deadly. Those recruited by the Zael are believed to be cursed, for the Zael only choose those they believe can make it and end to live with their rules and standards, though those are secret from the people of Marian.
Welcome to Suburbia
